ABOUT MELONEY COLLINS Mel has been a professional singer for the past twenty years. This past year, you may have heard her voice on commercials for Squarespace, Califia Yogurt, Miller Lite and more. When not leading her jazz quartets, Mel can be seen as a background vocalist for many artists including Heather Hedley and Michael Bublé. Her most recent work for Michael Bublé included backgrounds for his hit single “I Believe in You”. Stepping out of the background, Mel has had the distinct honor to be the opening musical act for the legend, Bob Newhart, in his recent sold-out standup performances. Mel loves jazz. She grew up listening and singing along to the greats, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Wilson and all the greats. Although she began her career in musical theatre, jazz never left her heart and for the past 12 years she has had the privilege to travel the country singing jazz as her chosen profession. In 2010, Mel became the official vocalist of the Side Street Strutters, a seven-piece jazz ensemble that has been touring for 30 years. She also has her own “StandardMel Quartet” which plays weekly at the exclusive Club33 Lounge at Disneyland. Twice a year, Mel participates in two jazz festivals that are close to her heart; In July, Mel headlines with The D. Benjamin Band at the Mammoth Jazz Festival of Southern California, and in October she participates in the historic Sun Valley, Idaho Jazz Festival. In 2013, Mel teamed up with Composer/Arranger Duane Benjamin to create their first jazz album, A Little Jazz Now & Then - a tribute to the music of yesteryear and today! The success of that album prompted several more works, including their latest - a holiday album entitled Sleigh Ride Vibes. All her music can be found on all streaming platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and CD Baby. Keep up with Mel on Instagram @StandardMel and on Facebook at MelCollins/StandardMel.
